Welcome to the Association franco-ontarienne des conseils scolaires catholiques (AFOCSC)

In the service of its members, AFOCSC represents the eight French-language Catholic school boards in Ontario and of the Consortium Centre Jules Léger. AFOCSC actively promotes the growth of Ontario’s French-language Catholic school system, reinforces the importance of Catholic education with the community and governments, and aims for the academic and personal success of all its students. Created in 1998, AFOCSC is a non-profit organization.

Services

Counsellor Training

AFOCSC, along with the Ontario Education Services Corporation (OESC) and its partner organizations, has developed a series of professional development modules and programs to strengthen board governance. The training helps trustees understand the roles and responsibilities of the school board, its elected members and the director of education.

Negotiations and Dispute Resolution

With the considerable support of its members, AFOCSC negotiates working conditions that ensure a quality Catholic Francophone education for its students and positive working relationships for staff and with the various unions.

Priorities

Shortage of Teachers

AFOCSC is committed to being an influential partner in the promotion of qualified and dedicated francophone candidates to teach in French-language Catholic school boards in the province of Ontario.

Capital Projects

AFOCSC remains a key partner of the Ministry of Education in offering solutions to advance capital projects and meet the needs of students and school communities.

Transportation

AFOCSC maintains that the funding formula must take into account the realities of French-language school boards and the needs of students and their families..

Governance

AFOCSC is a partner in the revitalisation of several sectors of application of the Education Act and in the realisation of these changes towards excellence.
